Cookie Segelstein

I teach all levels of violin and viola students at my home in North Berkeley, CA on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons and Saturday mornings. I love beginners, and specialize in the merging of Classical technique with folk styles. Through folk fiddle tunes and styles, students can improve bow techniques, sharpen listening skills, and discover a variety of violin/fiddle traditions throughout the world. Integrating ear learning into traditional lessons makes for a total package, a student who can sight read a string quartet part, and then sit with friends and play a traditional fiddle tune by ear.
